Haljas are guardians and the messengers of death from the Netherworld, they also act as sub bosses of the Netherworld and some storyline missions. The Halja obey one being only and that is the current ruler of the Netherworld. When Odette lived it was her they obeyed but when she was destroyed by Gwendolyn they turned to Gallon who was the only other being besides Odette with powers from the underworld due to the Curse of Darkova.
